Day 3 — Taking Thoughts Captive

Main Scripture

2 Corinthians 10:5 (ESV)
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

Teaching

Not every thought belongs to you. Some thoughts are lies, and lies only gain power when we agree with them. Every thought must be tested:

Does this agree with God’s truth?
If not → we reject it and replace it with Scripture.

Jesus didn’t just save you from sin — He saved your mind from torment. Every time you choose truth over a lie, your brain literally rewires according to the Kingdom. The Holy Spirit empowers you to create new pathways of truth, so your mind becomes a place of peace, not anxiety.

Additional Scriptures

Philippians 4:8 (ESV)
“…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just… think about these things.”

John 8:32 (ESV)
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Lie vs Truth Tool

Lie Biblical Truth

I’ll never change I am a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17)
